Weekend Trip: Prague, Czech Republic

On November 7th we traveled to was the magical city of Prague. We meandered through the city buying pastries, watching street performers, and visiting important monuments. We also went to a bunch of museums. My favorite was the Alphonse Mucha museum. I absolutely loved it. Looking at Mucha's work got me excited and reminded me how much I love art. Please go to St. Vitus' Cathedral at least once in your life at take a look at the gorgeous stained glass window inside that Alphonse Mucha created. It is breath taking. If cannot go to Prague right away, you should watch The Brothers Bloom because it was filmed there. Prague is such a beautiful city.

Weekend Trip: København, Danmark - Day 1

Claire, Amy, and I flew from Vienna to Copenhagen early on Friday morning. We met up with Monika and Stephanie and toured the city. I love Copenhagen. The whole time we were there I kept saying, "Oh my gosh… I love it here." I just love everything about it: the water, architecture, beautiful tall people everywhere, and tons and tons of bikes. I cannot wait to go back.

Filou

Meet Filou, our host family's dog. Filou is a french word that means skirt chaser. I love little Filou, especially when she snuggles next to my feet every morning at breakfast.

Österreich vs. USA

We went to the Austria vs. USA soccer game on Tuesday night. We had a heck of a good time cheering like real Americans even though we lost. Thanks for painting our faces, Claire. Go USA.

Weekend Trip: London, England - Day 2

We got up bright and early again to go to Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Portobello Road has the largest antique flea market in the world with over 1,000 vendors. I was in heaven and couldn't help but buy a beautiful map of the Austrian Empire from 1889. From there we took the Underground to The Tower Bridge and walked across it and back again. Then we went to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard. Because of where we were standing, we didn't see much, but it was cool to be there anyway. We enjoyed a quick walk through St. James's Park where we played with squirrels and tried to recreate a picture of my dad that was taken in Hyde Park when he served an LDS mission in London. I wish I could have gone to Hyde Park to recreate it, but we didn't have enough time. Next time London, next time.

Oh yeah, and then there is this picture Claire took on the plane back to Bratislava. Had to make up for lost time, ya know?
