Every morning before my roommate, Amy, and I head off to school, we go upstairs to a little breakfast room that hangs off the back of the house. That room is probably my favorite room in our host family's Austrian home because of the yellow and white striped wall paper, chipping white paint on the door frames, and the fact that two of the walls are entirely filled with windows that look out to the gorgeous garden in the backyard. Our wonderful Hausfrau makes us breakfast every morning that usually includes yogurt, bread, and herbal tea. I love sitting with our host family in the morning talking about differences between our countries while sipping tea and looking out those beautiful windows. It is the perfect start to any day.
