After being away from two of my best friends for three and a half months last year, I decided to fly to Hawaii on November 10, 2012 to visit them. The trip was packed with trips to the Laie Hawaii temple, Hukilau Beach, Temple Beach, Pounder's Beach, grocery shopping at Food Land, dance parties, bike rides, slurping down Matsumoto's Shave Ice, cliff jumping, snorkeling, boogie boarding, Acai Bowls, night shows at the Polynesian Cultural Center, late night runs, hitch hiking to Haleiwa, bus rides, scooter rides, devouring pancakes and french toast at Hukilau Café, eating tons of peanut butter, squeezing the 3 of us onto 2 small twin beds pushed together, henna tattoos, climbing on rooftops, watching pro surfing competitions, hiking, waterfalls, humidity, and sunshine. While I was there both Erin and Whitney received their LDS mission calls and I got to spend Thanksgiving with some new friends. I loved visiting them and am getting excited about the trip all over again from looking at these pictures!
Anyone who is planning a trip to the island of Oahu, here are some food places I recommend:
Also, I highly recommend purchasing either a waterproof camera or a Go Pro for your trip.
Don't forget your sunscreen!
